A specialty of Spanish cuisine, churros are doughnut-type pastries made of water, sugar, and flour, baked in frying oil and sweetened as desired. They can be eaten as a dessert or as a snack. Traditionally, in Spain, they are eaten for breakfast, served with hot chocolate.

✔️Churros are a real delicacy, but they are also quite fattening. In order to counter this effect, we propose you a recipe of light churros without frying, to treat you without excess.

✔️For an even lighter and healthier recipe, you can sprinkle your churros with stevia, dip them in a low-fat jam or coat them with melted dark chocolate. They will also be delicious with fresh fruit to keep you body ligne.

🚩Ingredients : 

for 06 to 10 person 

✔️50 g of sweet gourmet butter 

✔️50 cl light heavy cream 

✔️125 gr of flour

✔️25 cl of water

✔️20 g of sugar

✔️1 pinch of salt

✔️1 tablespoon of orange blossom

✔️powdered sugar

✔️250 g of chocolate

✔️Churros are a real delicacy, but they are also quite fattening. In order to counter this effect, we propose you a recipe of light churros without frying, to treat you without excess.

First step: The preparation 

✔️Before starting this easy recipe, turn on your oven and preheat it to 220° or thermostat 7 or 8.

Second step: The churro dough 

✔️To make your churro dough, take a saucepan in which you boil the water with the following ingredients: a pinch of salt, powdered sugar, and orange blossom water. 

✔️When the water is boiling, remove from the heat and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough. Your churro dough is ready. 

Let it cool to room temperature. 

Third step: Cooking 

✔️When the dough is lukewarm, use a pastry bag or a fluted tip. If you don't have one, you can opt for a freezer bag with a corner cut off. 

✔️Press and form small rolls of dough on a non-stick baking sheet or a sheet of baking paper.

✔️Usually, they are made with a length of about 8 cm.

✔️Take care to space them apart so that they have room to cook. 

✔️Bake your churros for approximately 20 minutes until they are golden brown.

✔️We advise you to watch the cooking so that you can take out the churros as you like. 

✔️In this recipe, you will not need a frying oil bath, deep fryer, or paper towel as in the classic recipe.

Fourth step: The chocolate sauce 

✔️Take them out of the oven and enjoy them hot.

✔️You can enjoy them simply sprinkled with powdered sugar or topped with hot chocolate.

✔️Following the traditional Spanish recipe, we offer you our recipe for chocolate sauce. 

✔️In a saucepan, crush your chocolate bar into small pieces, pour 50 cl of cream and add 50 grams of butter.

✔️Melt over very low heat, stirring slowly with a wooden spoon.

✔️When the chocolate coulis is well melted, coat it over your churros for a moment of ecstasy.
