A frittata is a traditional Italian omelet.

The frittata is an Italian speciality based on eggs, very close to the omelette and can be enriched with many ingredients according to the desires and tastes of each one. Cooked in a non-stick frying pan or in the oven for a lighter version, it is cooked rigorously on both sides.

Versatile, it can be eaten as antipasto, starter, main course or even inside a sandwich. With vegetables, onions, cheese, potatoes and flavoured with aromatic herbs, everything is possible with the frittata!

⚜️what to use to prepare a different style of frittata 

Bacon, spinach and tomato frittata

 ✔️ Frittata with bacon, spinach and tomatoes, a true delight 

🚩Ingredients :

✔️ 250 g  bacon
✔️150 g spinach
✔️16 cherry tomatoes
✔️75 g grated cheese
✔️6 eggs
✔️ 6 cl of cream
✔️  1/2 teaspoon onion powder
✔️ 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
✔️ salt
✔️pepper

🚩Instructions :

1.  First, heat your oven to 180° and butter a pie tin.
Then slice the bacon, chop the spinach, wash and cut the cherry tomatoes in half.

2.  Put the bacon in a non-stick pan and cook it over medium-high heat, stirring frequently for 6 to 10 minutes.
Transfer the bacon to a plate covered with several layers of paper towels to drain, reserve 1 tbsp. of the melted bacon fat in the pan.
Return the pan to medium-high heat, add the spinach and sauté for 15 to 30 seconds, then add it on top of the bacon on the plate.
In a large bowl whisk the eggs with the cream, onion and garlic powder and season with salt and pepper.

3.  Add the bacon, tomatoes, spinach and grated cheese to the salad bowl, mix and pour into the pie tin.
Then put the pie tin in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
Finally here is your frittata with bacon, spinach and tomatoes, cut into quarters and serve, bon appétit to everyone.

Shrimp Frittata


✔️This recipe is really easy and quick to prepare, super good even the next day and you can also offer it as an aperitif, cut into cubes.

🚩Ingredients :

✔️ 7 eggs
✔️ 300 g of shrimps
✔️ 250 g of peas
✔️ 1 shallot
✔️ 1 garlic clove
✔️ 60 g of feta cheese
✔️ 60 g of parmesan cheese
✔️ 2 tablespoons of fresh cream
✔️ a bunch of parsley
✔️ 10 g butter
✔️ 1 tablespoon of flour
✔️ salt and pepper

🚩Instructions :

1. Preheat the oven to 180°.

2. Peel the shallot and the garlic and chop it. Butter and flour a pie tin and pour the chopped shallot and garlic on the bottom.

3. Whip the eggs, cream, chopped parsley (half), parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Pour into the mold and arrange the shrimps on top, cover and put in the oven for 10 minutes, uncover, and leave for another 10 minutes.

4. Crumble the feta cheese out of the oven and then the rest of the parsley.

Frittata with zucchini and tomatoes


 ✔️ Frittata with zucchini and tomatoes, a true delight and healthy 

🚩Ingredients :

✔️  6 eggs
✔️  2 small zucchinis
✔️ 2 onions
✔️ 200 g cherry tomatoes
✔️ 1 Greek yogurt
✔️ 1 handful of grated cheese
✔️ 60 g feta cheese
✔️ 1 bunch of basil
✔️ olive oil
✔️ salt, pepper

🚩Instructions :

1.  Rinse and dry the zucchini before cutting into small cubes. Peel and chop the onions and sweat them in a frying pan with a tablespoon of olive oil for 5 to 6 minutes. Add the zucchinis and cook until the zucchinis are cooked and lightly browned. Season to taste. Set aside.

2.  Rinse and dry the tomatoes. Sauté them in the same pan with a drizzle of oil until they have wilted. Season with salt and pepper.

3.  In a salad bowl, beat the eggs with the yogurt. Season with salt and pepper. Add the grated cheese, half the basil (rinsed, dried, and chopped), and the vegetables. Mix in.  

4.  Oil an oven-safe frying pan. Pour in the previous mixture. Cook the frittata over moderate heat for 5 minutes. Sprinkle it with crumbled feta cheese. Drizzle with olive oil.

5.  Place in the oven at 180ºC. Bake for 15 minutes or until the frittata is golden brown. 

6.  Leave to cool for a few minutes when taken out of the oven and sprinkle with the remaining basil.

7.  A small green salad and at the table!
